integrated designing – reflected

Positions on design 1992 vs. 2012

in 1992 rudolf greger and christoph pauschitz founded their design company. they published a collection of texts under the title »integriert entwerfen« (german for »integrated designing«) to express their attitude towards future customers.

they explained, what is meant by »integrated designing«, asked, if there are no more sharks, outlined, how to choose a designer, and what all this has to do with the »dynamic philygon«. furthermore we learned why writing uncapitalised is consequent and should be understood as a sign, too.

in 2012 rudolf greger uses the opportunity of the 20-year jubilee of the design company to concern himself with the texts once again and to take a stand from today’s point of view. in 2014 this texts were translated into english. an exciting experiment on the durability of texts. an inspiration for self-reflection.

What readers are saying:

»A captivating read that gently guides the reader away from design fiction and towards the Viennese/Austrian School of economics.«

»It’s astonishing how much from 1992 ‘versus’ 2012 has actually come true and still holds true today, and how seamlessly the ideas continue. Superb timeless thoughts on design – easy to read yet profoundly deep.«
